Connection problem wan and wlan

I am a beginner and I wish you to have a little patience with my questions.
First of all I followed all your tutorial for first example with Arduino Yun and everything went well (to my house with my router) but I have a problem with the connections in my office.
explain.

I would like to connect to my yun to change the settings of wifi
Arduino yun with sd (with runtime image) >> connected ethernet cable to my pc.
I open the browser
I type myyun.local but does not work
Type 192.168.240.1 but does not work

I turn off the yun
disconnect sd
I turn on the yun
I wait one minute
I open the browser
I type myyun.local but does not work

I try to type arduino.local \ does not work …

how can I do?where is mistake?

I am happy that you can make use of the platform!

The Yun needs a network with a dhcp service that provides it with an IP Address.

When you connect the YUN via Ethernet directly to your computer this service is not present, therefore the YUN and your computer just have a random network configuration.
Result is that you can not find the YUN.

You can try to share internet connectivity with the Ethernet Port, on some computer systems this starts a dhcp service.

Or you connect the YUN via Ethernet to a router. The router would have such a service by default.
