I’m new to Open Hybrid…
I would like to install the Reality Editor on my iPhone 4 under iOS 7.1.2 (the last compatible release),
but the Reality Editor 0.1.1 release on iTunes is iOS 8.1.1+ only.
How can I get an older iOS 7.1.2 compatible version ?
I remember that there where some big changes between iOS 7 and iOS 8. The Reality Editor presently does not support iOS 7. The App Store needs a minimum version of iOS8.0 at this point, when I upload a new version
Beside these two issues, the iPhone 4 is to slow to reliable track AR content and project the Web-Content at the same time.
I am sorry but the iPhone 4 is not supported.
Do you have access to any of these devices that can run iOS8:
iPhone 4S (the reality editor will run very slow)
iPhone 6 Plus
iPad 2 (the reality editor will run very slow)
iPad Mini 2
iPod Touch 5G
I guess that if there’s no way to upload a prior iOS 8 compatible version on App store there will be no solution for me at the moment. I will have to wait to test Open Hybrid until I’m able to get a new device compatible with iOS 8+.
I have found a way to make the Reality Editor run all the way down to iOS 7.0.
You can find version 1.5.5 in the app store.
It has some visual bugs and runs very very slow on that device but it works.
Fantastic, I will try it!!!
Thanks for your work!
Please let us know how it works. There might be a bug where the video is not rightfully positioned.
Rotating your phone to change the orientation solved it for the device I had.
You might run in to some displaying problems. There was a problem with non retina displays.
It is fixed now but takes another week or so to show up in the app store.
